Skinny Models Getting Skinnier? What will it take to change the fashion industry's preference to be extra thin?

It seemed like the models were getting even skinner at New York Fashion Week. Last year’s campaign against super thin girls appears to be a thing of the past. A small group of protesters gathered outside the Bryant Park Tents with placards saying... “Feed The Models.” Few people even noticed.

According to the New York Post the situation is worse than ever …. "Show producers are force-feeding models nuts and orange juice to keep their blood-sugar levels up. And at Jeffrey Chow's first collection for the Poleci presentation Saturday night, one girl actually passed out. Producers had to put cold Coca-Cola cans on her head and feed her fruit to bring her back."

Abercrombie & Fitch Sues Beyonce

Abercrombie & Fitch launched a lawsuit against Beyoncé over the name of her soon to be launched perfume in partnership with Coty. The singer wants to name it Sasha Fierce after her ultra ego.

However A&F have had a trademark fragrance called Fierce out in the market since 2002. Beyoncé is expected to make about $20 million over the next 3 years from royalties once the problems are sorted out.

Are You For or Against Knock Offs?

Luxury powerhouse LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton won another $32.4 million in damages against two Internet service providers that hosted websites selling bogus goods. A Californian District Court ruled they shared responsibility with the actual counterfeiters.

Last year a French court awarded LV a $63 million dollar judgment against eBay for its role in selling LV labelled counterfeit goods. Total damages are now close to $100 million dollars.
